Edward A. Schreiber Jr. 63, 806 S. 48th Avenue, Wausau, died Friday November 23, 2001 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born October 9, 1938 in Wausau, son of Lillian (Bittner) Schreiber, Mosinee and the late Edward Schreiber Sr. On October 8, 1960 he married Mary Ellen Boehm in Marathon. She survives. The Schreiber's operated a dairy farm in Mosinee for 9 years, then Ed was employed with Wisconsin Public Service Corporation until 1988. After his retirement from Wisconsin Public Service, he devoted himself full time as landlord of their apartment complex. He was a veteran of the US Army 32nd Division serving during the Berlin Crisis. Among Ed's favorite pasttimes were woodworking, antique tractors, attending polka dances and drumming for the Roger Allen Band. Special to him was the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Wisconsin Public Service Men's Club and was an usher at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, his mother, Lillian, Mosinee, one son, Frederick (Noreen) Schreiber, Mosinee, one daughter, Kathy (Mark) Lewitzke, Wausau, four grandchildren, Michael & Cassandra Schreiber and KayLee & Molly Lewitzke, one sister, Elaine Streeter, Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Monday November 26, 2001 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Anthony Dichoso will preside. Entombment will be in Holy Angels Mausoleum, St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, is in charge of arrangments. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
