Edward J. Olczak

Edward J. Olczak 69, Athens, formerly of Milwaukee passed away at home, following a three year battle with cancer, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice on Sunday, January 31, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born December 12, 1940 in Milwaukee, son of the late Edward H. and Angeline (Kieliszkowski) Olczak. On December 17, 1971, he married Carol Wallner in Milwaukee. She survives. Edward served in the United States Airforce for eight years. Following his service in the military, he worked for Allen Bradley, Milwaukee and then for the Miller Brewery Can Company, Milwaukee, until his retirement. Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and gambling. He was a member of the Athens veterans. Survivors include, his wife of 38 years, Carol Olczak, Athens; two children, Larry (Diane) Abel, Hartford and Sherri (Timothy) McCord, Athens; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Platz, Megen and Danielle McCord, Stephanie, Amanda, Michelle and Larry Abel Jr.; two brothers, Dennis (Marilyn) Olczak, New Berlin and James (Cynthia) Olczak, South Milwaukee; one brother-in-law, Arthur (Carol Anne) Wallner, Waukesha; seven nieces and nephews, Carrie (Joseph), Dawn (Timothy), Lisa, Todd, Elizabeth, James and Troy (Rose); great nieces and nephews, Eric, Jasen and Hailey and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. There will be full military honors conducted by the Athens veterans.
