Edward L. Daniels

Edward L. Daniels 83, Athens, died Sunday July 6, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born March 1, 1925, in Marshfield, son of the late Lorence and Elizabeth Ann (Wanke) Daniels. On August 22, 1951, Edward married Darlene Komarek in Athens. Their children are Pamela, James, and Jacqueline. On March 7, 1964, he married Patricia Powers in Elgin, Illinois. She preceded him in death August 2, 2000. Prior to his retirement, Edward had been employed as a union carpenter for many years and later as a commercial carpenter in the Chicago area. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, enjoyed fishing, and card playing. He also enjoyed spending time with and caring for his four-legged friends. Edward was a great conversationalist who could always tell a good story. Survivors include his children, Pamela (Terry) Pisca, Schofield, James (Maura) Daniels, LaValle, Jacqueline (John) Middendorp, Peoria, Ariz., four grandchildren, Lisa, Steven, Kevin, April, three great grandchildren, Jasmine, Aneka and Owen, his siblings, Ruth Pederson, Athens, Agnes Tobin, Maple Valley, Wash., Sister Irene Daniels SSSF, Milwaukee, Norbert (Jeanette) Daniels, John (Shirley) Daniels, all of Athens, Mary (Daniel) Writz, Abbotsford, Rev. Larry Daniels, Uganda, Patricia (Roland) Luellwitz, Colgate and Elizabeth (Joseph) Socha, Edgar. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Merceda Lenhard. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Weds.evening at the Athens funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
