Edward F. Boisen

Edward F. Boisen 83, Edgar, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, under the care of Ministry Home Hospice. He was born July 30, 1923 in Huron, South Dakota, the youngest of 10 children, son of the late John and Sophia (Pieper) Boisen On February 21, 1944, he married Rhoda Roszell in Vinton, Iowa. She survives. Ed farmed in Garrison, Iowa for 18 years until moving to the Marathon area, where he farmed for six years. Following his retirement from farming, he worked in sales for 10 years and drove truck for three years, retiring in 1982. Among his many interests, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling and loved polka music. Ed also refurbished old farm equipment and was a self taught accordion player. Survivors include, his wife, Rhoda Boisen, Edgar; nine children, James (Judy) Boisen, Minong, Wis., Gerald (Ann) Boisen, Port Richey, Fla., Judith (Steve) Boeck, Greeley, Colo., Diane (Mike) Wahl, Monticello, Wis., Patricia (Kevin) O'Brien, Brooklyn, Wis., Michael (Marjean) Boisen, Wausau, Roger (JoAnn) Boisen, Appleton, Dennis (Judy) Boisen, Woodstock, Ill. and David (Beth) Boisen, Spring Valley, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jolene Boisen. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday, April 23, 2007 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
