Edward J. Bennis

Edward "Ed" J. Bennis, 74, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston. He was born January 22, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late John and Mary (McCarthy) Bennis. Ed was a longtime contributor and active member of The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. His church involvement included, being a leader of prayer, Eucharistic Minister, minister to the homebound, adult server, IT Technician, member of the choir, lector, serving on the Building Use Committee and helping with Friday fish fry delivery. Among some of his favorite pastimes, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed baseball and the Green Bay Packers. Ed was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include, his son, Garrett Bennis, and three grandchildren, Zach, Tristan and Alexis Bennis, all of Plainfield, Illinois. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
