Edward Bembinster

Edward Bembinster 89, 909 S. 22nd Avenue, Wausau, died Thursday February 7, 2002 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home, Wausau. He was born July 28, 1912 in Wausau, son of the late Frank and Catherine (McCluskey) Bembinster. On June 18, 1938 he married Florence Billington in Wausau. She preceded him in death September 3, 2001. The Bembinster's were the founders of the former Wausau Auto Auction. Ed was the owner and operator of Aero Auto Parts and Beltline Motors, Wausau. Edward and Florence were charter members of St. Matthew Catholic Church and for many years were active in various church funtions. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council #1069, Wausau. As a longtime Westside businessman, he was active in many community and town of Stettin activities. Survivors include six children, Greg Bembinster, Lemont, Ill., Gail Bembinster, Irvine, Calif., Linda (James) Anderle, Cape Coral, Fla., Mark Bembinster, Wausau, Brian Bembinster, Wausau and Penelope (Jeffrey) Rieger, Irvine, Calif., 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce and a daughter-in-law, Rosetta Bembinster, two brothers and two sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 14, 2002 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. John Parr will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
