Edmund D. Halkoski
82, a former Wausau resident, died Monday December 16, 2002 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Chippewa Falls.
He was born November 9, 1920 in Wausau, son of the late Martin and Pearl (Bukowski) Halkoski. On December 29, 1941 he married Mildred Splettstozer in Wausau. She survives.
Prior to retirement, Edmund owned a hardware representative agency in Stillwater, Minnesota. During World War II, Edmund served his country as an MP in the Army stationed in Chicago. He was a member of the American Legion, a member of the 40 & 8 Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and appreciated antique automobiles.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred, a daughter, Janice (Gregory) Nelson, Somerset, a brother, Walter 'Hank' (Virginia) Halkoski, Wausau, a sister, Joni (Mike) Stanke, Appleton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 19, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from noon until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
