Earl V. Laporte

Earl V. LaPorte 101, Schofield, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born July 1, 1904 in Schofield, son of the late Victor and Theresa (Grossman) LaPorte. On September 18, 1925 he married Fern Somers in Michigan. She preceded him in death in 1994. Prior to his retirement Earl worked at the former American Can Co. for over 30 years. He enjoyed carpentry work, hunting, fishing, reading and spending time in the outdoors. Survivors include 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. Earl is further survived by two daughters-in-law, Audrey LaPorte, Weston and Dorothy LaPorte, Wisconsin Rapids along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Earl was preceded in death by two sons, Donald David LaPorte and Earl James LaPorte, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Peter Korthals will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
