Earl E. Gavitt

Earl E. Gavett 85, 308 East Sell Street, Wausau died Saturday, December 22, 2001 at Community Health Care, Wausau Hospital. Earl was born December 23, 1915 in the town of Ringle, son of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Wilson) Gavitt. He married Laurena Karcher February 29, 1936 at St. Paul Church, Wausau. She survives. Earl was employed as a truck driver for Spector Freight Company, formerly Stefke Freight, for over 35 years. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed traveling. Survivors besides his wife, Laurena Gavitt, Wausau, include two daughters, Dawn Krueger and Janice (Elroy) Fenhaus, all of Wausau, one son Larry (Carol) Gavitt, Wausau, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one brother, Arthur "Red" Gavitt, Wheatland, Missouri. Besides his parents, Earl was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 201 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Dennis Pegorsch will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
