Duwayne P. Bacon

DuWayne P. Bacon, Spencer passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at his home.

He was born January 22, 1954 in Wausau, son of the late Cecil and Pauline (Barthel) Bacon.  DuWayne married Donna J. Weiler.  They later divorced but remained friends.

DuWayne spent several years working with his brother Clifford building pole buildings prior to going into road construction from which he retired.

In DuWayne’s earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family playing cards and board games. DuWayne was known for spending weekends helping friends and family with tasks ranging from building fences to home and auto repairs. After retirement DuWayne found great joy in mowing lawn, playing cards and spending time with his kids, grandkids, girlfriend and many friends. Some notable retirement events include the several chartered fishing trips he and his brothers took which provided many memorable stories.

Survivors include his children, Daniel Bacon, Marathon, Douglas (Jason Brandt) Bacon, Junction City and Darin Bacon, Wausau, his girlfriend, Donna Lynn Weiler, his loving grandchildren, Austin and Connor Bacon, Kyle Swiatnicki and Natasha and Alyssa Bacon and his siblings, Nancy Rohmeyer, Karen (Leonard) Simonson, Frank Bacon, Jerry Bacon, David Bacon, Mark Bacon, Beverly (Donald Tessmer), Linda Ohde.  DuWayne is further survived by his in-laws, Christine Bacon, Pamela Bacon and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dale Bacon, Clifford Bacon and Patricia Bacon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
