DuWane "Duke" W. Sessions, 86, Marathon, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born October 23, 1927 in Illinois, son of the late Calder and Mildred (Brownell) Sessions. On October 11, 1952, he married Patricia Olson in Fairchild, Wis. She survives.
DuWane was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. For many years, he drove truck for County Materials until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and woodworking.
Survivors include, his wife, Pat Sessions, Marathon; four children, Ida (Bill) White, Thorp, Roxanne Sessions, Schofield, Wayne (Jane) Sessions, Marathon and Paul (Cookie) Sessions, Marathon; six grandchildren, Tracy Northcott, DuWane (Amanda) Sessions, Brian (Kaci) Sessions, Kristopher (Heather) White, Samantha Sessions and Autymn (Joe) Jenz; eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Vanessa, Natalie, Alyssa, Cameron, Sophia, Michael and Caitlin; one brother, Robert (Ida) Sessions, Athens; one sister, Maureen Hobart, Three Lakes; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Jean Sessions; and seven brothers, Bruce, Ralph, Harold, Richard, Dale, Donny and Larry.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Marathon. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
