Duane E. Kniess, Sr

Duane E. Kniess Sr. 56, 124 E. Chellis Street, Wausau died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at his home. He was born August 20, 1949 in Merrill, son of Hilda (Saeger) Kniess, Wausau and the late Herman Kniess. On December 2, 1983 he married Sandra Gruna at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Schofield. She survives. Duane was a truck driver for over 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, watching football and baseball games and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors besides his wife Sandra, Wausau, include his mother, Hilda Kniess, Wausau, his children, Shane (Nicki) Neumann and Duane (Stacey) Kniess Jr., both of Wausau, Theresa Kniess, Milwaukee, Brandon Neumann and Ashley Kniess, both of Wausau, four grandchildren, his siblings, Joyce Fehlhaber, Wausau, Jelvadine (Jerry) Dalum, San Antonio, Tex. and Roger (Margaret) Kniess, Wausau along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his father Herman Kniess, Duane was preceded in death by his son Shane M. Kniess and an infant sister. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Dennis Pergorsh will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, town of Hamburg.
