Dr. Gregory J. Bachhuber 89, Wausau, formerly of Tomahawk, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born January 23, 1917 in Port Washington, son of the late Charles Hugo and Mary Ellen (Snyder) Bachhuber. On October 25, 1941, he married Dolores Doll at St. James Catholic Church, Madison. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1996. Greg was a General Practitioner for many years and retired from Wausau Hospital as an Emergency Room Physician. Among his many interests, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with "the boy's at the shack". Survivors include, five children, John (John Sippel) Bachhuber, Nekoosa, Thomas (Carol) Bachhuber, Rockford, Ill., Mark (Linda) Bachhuber, Mosinee, Linda (David) Zaremba, Wausau and Paula (Steven) Roubinek, Irma; five grandchildren, Robert (Cathy) Bachhuber, Green Bay, Johanna (Dean) Meier, Dane, Kathryn (fiance Anthony) Bachhuber, Chicago, Ill., Eric (Kristin) Roubinek, Minneapolis, Minn. and Lindsay Roubinek, Madison; and four great grandchildren, Charles and Cora Bachhuber; and Alyssa and Kaitlyn Meier. Besides his parents and wife, Dolores, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jo Bachhuber; and his dog, "Ollie". Private mass was held Monday, December 18, 2006 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice presided. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to your local humane society.
