Dr. George Michael Glasscock

Dr. George M. Glasscock, 50, 2508 North 75th Avenue, Wausau, died early Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Chicago, Illinois, of an apparent heart attack. He and his wife were returning from vacation. He was born June 6, 1952, in Decatur, Illinois, son of David and Mary Glasscock. He married Teresa Thennes on May 18, 1990, in Wausau. She survives. George grew up in Decatur, Illinois and attended school there. He graduated from Millikin University in 1974, and attended Loyola University School of Dentistry. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he practiced for three years. He began his current practice in Wausau in 1982. George had an unsurpassed passion and zest for life. He adored his family; they always came first. He was a private pilot, enjoyed snowmobiling, and was an avid SCUBA diver. George loved his practice and thought of his patients as his friends. He was a member of the WDA, ADA, AOPA and the Experimental Aircraft Association. As a final act of kindness, George was an organ donor. Besides his wife, Teresa (Thennes) Glasscock, Wausau, and his parents, David and Mary Glasscock, Florida, survivors include, two daughters, Allison (Patrick) Oja-Haus, St. Paul, Minnesota, Rachel Oja, Orlando, Florida; one brother, David (Paula) Glasscock, Denver, Colorado, one sister, Vicki (Ed) Ehrmann, Denver Colorado, mother-in-law, Jeneane Thennes, Gladstone, Michigan; sister-in-law, Elaine Glasscock, Windsor, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and one brother, Rick Glasscock. Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Nancy Petulla will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4 p.m until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue Funeral Home.
