Douglas Alan Rutz

Douglas A. Rutz 56, Appleton, died Friday June 4, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born May 23, 1954, in Wausau, son of Dorothy (Stoltman) Rutz, Wausau' and the late Simon Rutz. Douglas had been employed as a sales engineer with Q-Comp in Appleton. Among his many activities, he was a member of a ski club, bike club and enjoyed volunteering his time for the handicapped. Survivors include his children, Amy Rutz, Milwaukee, Brian Rutz, Levenworth, Kan., his mother, Dorothy Rutz, Wausau, siblings, Mary (Mark) Ventzke, Keith Rutz, all of Wausau, Tom (Sue) Rutz, Stanford, Conn., Karen Rutz, Stevens Point, Kathy (Dewey) Lannigan, Aniwa, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon "Sammy" Rutz. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. June 9, 2010 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine. Friends may call on Weds. from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
