Dorothy A. Wenzel

Dorothy A. Wenzel, 87, Wausau, died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at her home. She was born June 6, 1925, in Wausau, daughter of the late Michael and Angeline (Gajewski) Bychinski. On October 23, 1948, she married Clarence Wenzel at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He survives. Dorothy was a homemaker who also worked as an associate at J.C. Penney in the catalog department. Dorothy was also very active in the St. Anne Fatima Council. Survivors include her husband, Clarence; son, Gerard (Maureen) Wenzel, Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Susan Wenzel, Wausau; grandsons, Eric (Breanne), Scott and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Carter; sisters, Mary Ann (Herbert) Frymark, Odenten, Maryland, Barbara Egle, Milwaukee and Donna (Roger) Hagengruber, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters-in-law, Marcella (Romie) Andraska, Rib Mountain, and Alvina Lensmire, Marathon; very special friend, Peg Roberts and her daughters, Sharika and Ana; many other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Clarence. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
