Dorothy I. Weber

Dorothy I. Weber 79, Wausau, entered eternal life on July 1, 2004, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at the Hospice House. She was born April 4, 1925 in Wausau, daughter of the late Otto and Anna (Henkelman) Kurth. She attended Zion Lutheran School, town of Easton. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ralph W. Weber on April 22, 1944 at Zion Lutheran Church, town of easton. Ralph preceded her in death June 27, 1983. Dorothy and her late husband farmed in the town of Easton. For 17 years, she had been employed with the Wausau School District food service program, cooking at Hewitt Texas School. Dorothy was a lady with many God given talents. She will always be remembered for the beautiful cake decorating she did for over 40 years. She created beautiful crocheted and woven pieces which she gave as gifts or sold. In later years, she took classes in painting and painted many beautiful pictures. Among her favorite pasttimes was gardening, especially her flower garden. Special to her was attending her grandchildrens activities for school and sports. Her strong faith in the Lord and her love for her family and friends will remain in our hearts forever. Dorothy fought a courageous battle with cancer for one year. Her family would like to thank Dr. Gautam, the nurses at the UW Cancer Center, Hospice and Oncology Staff at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital and the staff and volunteers at the Hospice House for the care and love given to Dorothy and her family. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly (Roger) Tesch, Wausau, one son, Gene Weber, Wausau, one granddaughter, Kathy (John Glynn) Abt-Glynn, Wausau, one grandson, Keith (Ann) Tesch, Ringle, five great grandsons, Derek, Matthew and Ryan Tesch, Seth and Jordan Abt, two step great grandchildren, Blaine and Brittiany Glynn, a sister, Erna Bahlow, Merrill, a sister-in-law, Bernette Kurth, Wausau, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gerald and Adeline Hahn, Wausau. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Kayla Abt, sister, Bertha Herdt and brothers, Erich and Henry Kurth. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 6, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, E7195 Star Road, Aniwa. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church Pallbearers will be Keith, Derek, Matthew and Ryan Tesch, Seth and Jordan Abt, John Glynn and Jim Kurth. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, E7195 Star Road, Aniwa; Comfort Care and Hospice Services; Wings or the charity of your choice.
