Dorothy Roesler, 93, Athens died Monday, May 7, 2018 under the care of Ministry Home Care Marshfield Hospice at Colonial Center Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Colby.
She was born July 29, 1924 in Medford, daughter of the late Casper and Louise (Piessig) Boxrucker. On August 26, 1944 she married Ervin Roesler in Athens. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2001.
Dorothy worked at Merrill Canning, Fromm Brothers Ginseng, town of Hamburg and also owned and operated Roesler's Bar for many years. Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing, making quilts for family, nursing homes and World relief programs. She also enjoyed jig saw puzzles, garage and rummage sales and going out to eat.
Survivors include her children, Bonnie Myszka, Athens, John (Lorna) Roesler, Medford, Linda Roesler, Athens, Gordon "Gordie" (Kitty) Roesler, Marathon and Gene (Stacy) Roesler, Athens, 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and one great great grandchild expected in July, one brother, George Boxrucker, Athens and one sister, Lucille Perrodin, Athens and two sisters-in-law, Olga Kuck, Wausau and Janette Roesler, Milwaukee.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Donna Myszka and Tonya Schug, three brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 486 County Road F, town of Hamburg. Private family burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
