Dorothy L. Kaminski

Dorothy L. Kaminski, 88, Wausau passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, while under the care of Aspirus at Home Hospice at Wood Aven Health & Rehab, Wausau.

She was born March 6, 1937, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of the late Vincent and Edna (Miller) Kennicker. On May 21, 1977, she married Dennis Kaminski in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2025.

For over 30 years Dorothy was a housekeeper at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Wausau. Some of her favorite pastimes included embroidery, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, gardening and fishing.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Chaignot, Rothschild, her grandchildren, Jamie, Kevin and Brian Chaignot and her great grandchildren, Kali, Christopher, Jamie and Dravon and other close family members.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Gary and Robert Block and a brother, Donald Kennicker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. The Rev. Marion Tlaga will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
