Dorothy M. Holdridge
90, Wausau, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born February 17, 1918 in rural Marathon County, daughter of the late William and Nellie (Gaulke) Andreas. On September 30, 1939, she married Earl C. Holdridge in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1986.
Dorothy worked for the former Johnson Hills Department Store, Wausau, until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the Trinity Welfare Workers and the Trinity Bible Class, and was a volunteer at the Bethesda Thrift Store and Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Among her many interests, she enjoyed baking, cooking, playing cards, Friday Night Fish Fries and spending time at her cottage on Lake Nokomis. Her greatest joy was spending time with her neighbors, friends and especially her family. Dorothy will be deeply missed.
Survivors include, four children, LaVonne (Roger) Bernard, Medford, Ore., Roger (Jane) Holdridge, Wausau, Linda (Dennis Klein) Holdridge, New Berlin and Mark (Michelle) Holdridge, Sturgeon Bay; six grandchildren, Peter (Julie) Holdridge, Hatley, Michelle (Mike) Bank, Denver, Colo., Michael Bernard, Camas, Wash., Stephen (Tiffany) Bernard, Medford, Ore. and Katelyn and Daniel Holdridge, Sturgeon Bay; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Isabelle Schepp, Schofield and Delores Wood, Ocala, Fla.; one brother, William (Bev) Andreas, Eau Claire; two sisters-in-law, Florence Andreas and Mary Ann Andreas, both of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Earl, she was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sam and Barb Morgan and family and Jack and Marsha Klein for all of their care, friendship and support for Dorothy over the years.
