Dorothy B. Hoeppner 83, town of Stettin, died Thursday, June 27, 2002 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born January 9, 1919 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Robert and Martha (Hardt) Schultz. On June 25, 1938, she married Wilbert Hoeppner at St. John Lutheran Church in the town of Rib Falls. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1991. Dorothy and her husband operated a dairy and ginseng farm in the town of Stettin.During this time she worked as a cook at Sunnyvale for many years. Among her favorite things to do were baking, gardening, canning, cooking and reading. She also enjoyed listening to polka music, playing the button accordion and going out to eat with her family. She will be sadly missed by her loving family. She was a loving mother of two daughters, Lou Ann (Kenneth) Burish, Marathon and Barbara Schuster, Wausau; two sons, Roger (Margaret) Hoeppner and James (Shirley) Hoeppner all of Wausau; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; one step-brother, Walter (Eleanor) Schultz, Milwaukee. Private family services will be held at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau followed by entombment. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere appreciation to everyone associated with the Comfort Care and Hospice Services, especially Dr. Rezazadeh, the hospice chaplain, the volunteers, nurses and nursing staff for the special care and attention given to Dorothy during her time with them.
