Dorothy Habeck

Dorothy Habeck, 93, Athens, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully April 14, 2013 at Benedictine Living Community of Wausau, (formerly Marywood Center). She was the youngest child of Julius and Emily (Degner) Habeck of Athens. She was preceded in death by five sisters and seven brothers: Stella, Carl, Ann, George, Ernie, Eddie, Clara, Helen, Ervin, Alfred, Esther, and Arlon. Survivors include one brother, Harvey Habeck of Willingboro, New Jersey and one sister-in-law, Doris Habeck of Athens. A lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens, Dorothy was a member of the choir, LWML Ladies Aid , and Trinity Altar Guild. On Friday's she went to the Lutheran school and some of the Kindergarten and first grade students read to her. In 2009, she and Ella LaFontaine were presented the Athenian Award for their lifetime of community Service. Dorothy found abiding and lasting love from her church and community. She has touched many lives and will be remembered for her kindness and unconditional love of everyone she encountered. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 20, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Elm St. Athens. WI., Rev. Andrew W. Alberts will officiate and burial will be at the Athens Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
