Dorothy M. Gage 97, Wausau, formerly of Milwaukee, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield. She was born December 24, 1909 in Butte, Montana, daughter of the late George and Ellen (Anderson) Hawke. On June 30, 1934 she married Leonard M. Gage in Winona, Minn. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1984. Dorothy was a homemaker who spent her early childhood years in Montana then moved to Minnesota where she attended Winona State Teachers College, taught for several years and married Leonard. Together, they raised their family in Milwaukee, where they resided for over 42 years. Survivors include her sons, Darell Gage, Albuquerque, N.M., Dean (Sally) Gage, Carmel, Calif. and Kevin (Judy) Gage, Milwaukee; daughter, Judith (Werner) Alfredson, Wausau; ten grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren; sisters, Marquerite Bang and Grace Ryan both of Minn. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela; brother, George and three sisters, Mildred, Ruby and Phyllus. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pastor Wayne Van Gelderen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Falls Baptist Church, N69W12703 Appleton Ave, Menominee Falls, WI 53051. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
