Dorothy V. Brzezinski

Dorothy V. Brzezinski, age 87, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born January 9, 1926 in the town of New Hope, Portage County, daughter of the late John and Alvina (Shulfer) Dombrowski. On May 10, 1947 she married Henry Brzezinski in Polonia. He survives. Faith and family were most important in Dorothy's life. She was a member of St. Michael Parish Rosary Society and the PTA. After retiring from J.C. Penney's at age 62 she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. Some of her hobbies included dancing, reading, sewing, baking and putting together puzzles. She loved polka music and cherished time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Henry, Wausau; seven children: Rev. Hilary Brzezinski O.F.M., Milwaukee, Norb Brzezinski, Wausau, Gerald Brzezinski, Wausau, Deb (Ken) Dorshorst, Mosinee, Jerry (Hollie) Brzezinski, Green Bay, Cindy (Paul) Prior, Oakdale, Minn., and Craig Brzezinski, Maplewood, Minn.; six grandchildren: Ryan (Jodi) Dorshorst, San Francisco, Jenna (fiancAC. David Coldwell) Dorshorst, Durham, N.C., Danielle Brzezinski, Madison, Zachary Brzezinski, Green Bay, Patrick and Molly Prior, Oakdale, Minn.; four siblings: Gen (Frank) Jelinski, Custer, Lucille Dallman, Oshkosh, Irene (Leo) Shopinski, Stevens Point, and Charles (Bea) Dombrowski, Wisconsin Rapids; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Dombrowski, Amherst Junction, Joyce Gagas, Iola, and Emma Brzezinski, Wausau; one brother-in-law, Donald Adamczak, Stevens Point, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Ernest Dombrowski, Dennis Dombrowski, Frances Adamczak and Sally Sopa, and one brother-in-law, Clarence Dallman. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Hilary Brzezinski O.F.M., and the Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7:00 p.m. rosary Tuesday at the Sixth Street funeral home. The family extends thanks to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for their wonderful care of our mother. Special thanks to Dr. Natalie Mykytsey at Aspirus Palliative Care for her deep compassion. Also a special thanks to Etta, mom's nurse/caregiver for the last three years.
