Dorothy M. Gouchee Bogert
96, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Stone Crest in Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born June 27, 1916 in New Lisbon, Wis., daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Jones) Fobes. On January 22, 1943, she married Gilbert Gouchee in Wisconsin Rapids. He preceded her in death in 1981. On January 18, 1990, she married Roland Bogert in Portage. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Dorothy was an elementary school teacher and taught in Merrillan, Rice Lake and Wisconsin Rapids until her retirement. She was a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Education Association, Wisconsin Education Association, National Education Association and AARP.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include, two daughters, Gail (David) Hanson, Wausau and Fay Finstad, Hayward; three grandchildren, Steven Sawyer, Hudson, Steffani Sawyer, St. Paul, Minn. and Cortney (Noel) Winn, Leawood, Kans.; and two great grandchildren, Marin and Harris Winn.
In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Fobes.
Private services will be held.
