Dorothy Marie Beyersdorff,
Dorothy's loving God opened his arms and led her home on April 24th in the early morning hours.
Dorothy was born April 20th 1921 to her parents Arthur and Martha ( Wendorf ) Lodholz at home in the Town of Berlin. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Berlin. Currently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau.
Dorothy met her husband Eilert Beyersdorff while cooking at a logging camp in Upper Michigan. They were married August 24, 1940 and built a home on 6th Street in Wausau, and together with their sons Lyle & Bruce, built a cottage on the Rainbow Flowage. They fished and shared meals with friends and family. Eilert preceded her in death on December 31, 1976.
Scenic bus trips to California, Busch Gardens, Branson, Nova Scotia, and Eastern States contributed to her enjoyment of life. She was employed at the Marathon Rubber Plant, Marathon Electric, The John Muir Hot Lunch program and later years at Wausau Insurance Co. Dorothy continued to work on quilt tops after she couldn't tie quilts anymore. The quilts were for Lutheran World Relief mission to cover the world one quilt at a time. She assisted patients at Marywood Nursing home to attend church services into her 90's. Her card party friends and many other friends were special to her through the years.
She loved her family and enjoyed holidays and other times with all of them.
Preceded in death by her husband Eilert Beyersdorff, son Lyle Beyersdorff, and two brothers Lawrence and Harvey Lodholz of Wausau.
Survived by son Bruce (Bonnie) Beyersdorff-Wausau, daughter-in-law Lorraine Beyersdorff-Wausau, grandchildren Loren (Connie) Beyersdorff-Wausau, Loni (Richard) Korpita-Wausau, Kristen Beyersdorff ( special friend-David Patton )-Madison, Aaron Beyersdorff-Weston; four great grandsons, Cody and Tyler Beyersdorff, Waylon and Winston Korpita of Wausau; one Brother Peter Lodholz-Hazelton IA; two sisters Verna (Orville ) Thurs-Plymouth, MN, and Florence ( Roy ) Williamson-Marathon.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Kemp Jones will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
A special Thank You to Dr Brian Smith, Hospice House staff, and volunteers to guide and comfort her as her health failed, to close her eyes and leave this earth. She will be remembered and loved by all of her family and friends as a hard working, caring, loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
