Dorothy H. Baumann

Dorothy H. Baumann 91, Marshfield, died Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Light House Elder Care, Marshfield. She was born August 11, 1913 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Imhoff) Karlen. On September 11, 1934 Dorothy married Joseph H. Baumann at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1980. Joe and Dorothy farmed in the town of Emmett for over 40 years and then moved to Marshfield in 1970. Before her marriage she had worked in Chicago and Washington D.C. After her marriage, Dorothy was a full time homemaker. Doing volunteer work, playing cards, making crafts and tending to her flowers were some of Dorothy's most enjoyable pastimes. Above all things she always took time out of her busy schedule to spend time with her family. Dorothy was also a member of St. John Catholic Church, Marshfield and was a former member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors include her children, Bernice (Basil) Polasek, Marshfield, Arlene Leffel, town of Marathon, Mary Ellen (Tom) Stieber, town of Marathon, Joe (Jeri) Baumann, Marathon, Leander (Loretta) Baumann, Muscoda and Donald (Gladys) Baumann, Marathon, 27, grandchildren, 38, great grandchildren, one brother, Ray (Betty) Karlen, Edgar, two sisters, Margie Wilichowski, Mosinee and Elizabeth Lang, Wausau and sisters-in-law, Marie Karlen and Irene Karlen, both of Wausau. Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, John Jr., Richard and Leo and one sister, Gertrude Lang. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
