Dorothy R. Arlen
87, R5849 N. Shady Lane, Ringle, died Sunday January 2, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born December 30, 1917 in Ringle, daughter of the late James D. and Jessie (Lenhof) Burns. On June 26, 1937, she married John Arlen at the former St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.
Dorothy was employed at the former Marathon Battery Corporation and later at Homestead Inn, Nutterville as a hostess. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Birch Lake, snowmobiling, bird watching and especially visiting and seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Joyce (Richard) Worgull, Weston, Robert (Gail) Arlen, Wausau, Gerald (Kay) Arlen, Winchester, and Bonnie (Dennis) Sattler, Wausau; seven grandchildren, Danny Krueger, Mark (Sherri) Arlen, Lori (Scott) Zimick, Amy Arlen, Lisa (Randy) Lang, Jody (Kari) Arlen and Scott Sattler; seven great grandchildren, Alicia & Jessica Arlen, Justin & Travis Lang, Fletcher Arlen, Isaac Sattler and Bobbi Jo Zimick; one sister, Marceille (William) Goytowski, Schofield; two brothers, Delbert Burns, Wausau and Leo (Carmen) Burns, Schofield.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Earl Burns.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Weds. January 5, 2005 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Friends may call on Weds. From 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Parish or Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
