Dorothea R. Grosskreutz

Dorothea R. Grosskreutz 71, Wausau, died Friday October 19, 2007, at North Central Health Care Facilities, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born February 8, 1936, in Wausau, daughter of the late Ernest and Ella (Frank) Kannenberg. On September 4, 1954, she married Donald H. Grosskreutz in Wausau. He preceded her in death December 15, 1996. Dorothea was a caregiver in her home for many years and had also been employed at the Homme Home. She enjoyed animals, especially her dog and an occaisional trip to the casino. Special to her was the time spent with her family. Survivors include five children, Roxanne (Ron) Glapinski, Hatley, Jeff (Faye) Grosskreutz, Birnamwood, David Grosskreutz, Hatley, Brian Grosskreutz, Wausau and Kim (Darrell) Tryba, Hatley, two grandchildren, Zach Tryba and Nicole (Robby) Hintz, two great grandchildren, Shelby and Jesse Hintz and one sister, Jean Vander Perren, DePere. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Kannenberg. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday October 23, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Skully, Mount View Care Center-One North, North Central Health Care Facilities-C Unit and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the outstanding care given to Dorothea during her long journey.
