Doris A. Torzewski

Doris A. Torzewski 78, Wausau, died Monday June 9, 2008, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care ad Hospice Services at the home of her daughter. She was born July 8, 1929, in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Jesse) Kurtzweil. On October 22, 1955 she married Kenneth Torzewski at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death July 29, 1979. Prior to her retirement, Doris was employed as a cashier at Prange-Way and K-Mart. She was especially fond of spending time with her great grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "GG". Survivors include her children, Mary (Jerry) Fochs, Mosinee and John Torzewski, Superior, six grandchildren, Greg Fochs, Jacie (Greg) Tesch, Tom Fochs, Jill (Andy) Bonicatto, Andy (April) Torzewski, Geoff Torzewski, seven great grandchildren, Sky, Martin, Myra, Claire, Calvin "Vinny", Camilla, Sofia, her siblings, Frances Poverski, Wausau, Patricia (Dick) Bauer, Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Ott, Scotsdale, Ariz., Roger Kurtzweil, Wausau, Kenneth (Colleen) Kurtzweil, Tomahawk. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sylvester, Kurtzweil, Marjorie Shebelski, Wilbur Kurtzweil and Eunice Fosmore, The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. Thursday June 12, 2008 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
