Doris A. Juedes-Andrew

Doris A. Juedes-Andrew 91, Merrill, formerly of Wausau, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at Good Samaritan Hospital, Merrill. She was born January 28, 1920 in Wausau, daughter of the late Charles and Selma (Kroctel) Nelson. On April 18, 1944 she married Hilbert Juedes. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1981. She then married Dale Andrew on October 18, 1987. He also preceded her in death on January 20, 1996. Doris was a school teacher in the town of Hamburg for many years and also worked at the former Employers Insurance Co. She was well known for her gift of gab and loved to spend time with family and friends sharing stories. Some of her favorite pastimes included baking her infamous apple pie, her devotion to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and their quilting club; in which she is very well known for her quality mittens that she made for many local kids in the Wausau area. Survivors include her son, John (Sue) Juedes, Wausau, five grandchildren, Lucas and Ryan Juedes, KC (Nick Alft) Juedes, Mike Hoffman and Andrea (Terry) Vosburgh, two great grandchildren, Miranda and Alec Vosburgh, one step daughter, Marilyn Gertchen, Wausau and her son-in-law, Ken Hoffman, Harrison Hills. Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Hoffman in 1982 and her siblings, Harold, Earl and Edward Nelson and Alberta Pufahl and Lillian Eddy. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. John Meachen will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
