Doris E. Fergot
85, 119 N. 4th Avenue, Edgar died Sunday, April 27, 2008 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at Three Oaks, Marshfield.
She was born November 14, 1922 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Yonkers) Vogedes. On August 27, 1943 she married George W. Fergot in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded here in death on January 10, 2005.
Dory graduated from Marathon High School and then worked at Marathon Electric where she met George. They were married in St. Louis, Missouri in 1944, where George was stationed before being deployed. After the war, they bought a home in Edgar where she became a full time mother raising five children. Her fondest memories were of growing up on the farm, being a Marathon Cheerleader and going to dances with her dear friend, Norma.
Her family remembers her best for her love of flowers, her delicious pickles and her unselfishness. As her illness progressed, she remained steadfast in her desire to return to Edgar and her home of over sixty years.
Survivors include her children, Georgia (Roger) Benson, Mosinee, Keith (Karen) Fergot, Appleton, Gary (Diane Drinsinger) Fergot, Edgar, Sue (Archie) Becker, Athens and Michael (Wendy) Fergot, New York, 11 grandchildren, Michele (Mondell) Peters, Jody (Kristin) Benson, Patrick (Tracy) Benson, Tara (Chris Schoenrocker) Fergot, Ryan and Rachel Fergot, Jenny (Perry) Werner, Jackie and Brian Becker, Alec and Haley Magvid, 7 great grandchildren, Megan, Marissa, Max and Dylan Peters and Taylor and Madeson Benson and Rebecca Werner, one sister, Rita (Gerald) Heindl, Rib Mountain and one brother, Alfred (Jan) Vogedes, Chesterton, Indiana.
Doris was proceeded in death by her parents- John and Eleanor Vogedes, her husband, George in 2005, a sister- Lucille Freiburger, three brothers- Hugo, John Jr. and Lester Vogedes, and a daughter-in-law-Debra (Knab) Fergot.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. G. Valentine Joseph will preside. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Edgar. Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Edgar funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Doris' name.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped take care of Mom after Dad's death. These include Tim,. Tracey, Kaylee, and Aaron Karlen, Nancy Heidman, Inez Halvorson, Jane Reilly-Smith, Ruth Jakibowski, Ministry Home Care Hospice and the Staff at Three Oaks in Marshfield. All these folks, plus many others, helped us with the long good-bye.
