Dora M. (Schoessow) Raddatz

Dora M. (Schoessow) Raddatz, 93, of the Town of Hamburg, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025.  She was born in Merrill on February 17, 1931 to the late Karl and Sylvia (Schmidt) Mundt.

She was baptized, confirmed, and married to Harold Schoessow Sr. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning.  He preceded her in death in 1991.  Dora worked several jobs over the years in addition to taking care of her family.  She worked in the Ginseng fields and with the silver foxes for the Fromm Brothers, was a cook at Schmidt’s Ballroom, worked in production at Marathon Cheese, and loved her time with the ladies at Valley Evergreens where she helped assemble wreaths.  Dora was also a member of the Berlin-Hamburg Lions Club for many years.

Survivors include her children, Judith (Eddie) Hall, Ruth (Jerome) Klinger, Dawn Gauerke (Kenny Artus), Donald (Debbie) Schoessow, and Harold (Cheryl) Schoessow; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, Felicity, Carter, Hudson, and Peyton; brother, Raymond “Shorty” Mundt; sister, Elaine Barry; and other family, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Schoessow Sr. and Francis “Bud” Raddatz; parents; grandchild, Shannon Hall; great-grandchild, Tyler Guralski; half-brother, Roger Henke; and son-in-law, Richard “Dick” Gauerke.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (Town of Hamburg), 135237 County Road A, Marathon, with Rev. William Ostrem officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service, all at the church.  Burial will follow in the Hamburg Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
