Donna R. Skrzypchak, 80, Weston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026 while under the care of Interim Hospice at Primrose Memory Care, Weston.
She was born on June 20, 1945 in Wausau, daughter of the late Delbert and Marion (Gavitt) Sickler. On October 2, 1965 she married David Skrzypchak at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2024.
Donna devoted her early married life to caring for her home and family. Shortly after graduating from Wausau High School, she moved to Milwaukee, where she worked at a cookie factory. Later, when her youngest child began school, she returned to the workforce at Tupperware/Lakeland Sales, where she remained for 14 years. Always hardworking and dependable, she then began a long and fulfilling career as Assistant Deli Manager at IGA in Rib Mountain, serving the community for 18 years before retiring.
Donna’s heart was always in the kitchen, and cooking was her greatest joy. She treasured time spent bowling in her league with her best friends and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She loved casino trips with her sisters and friends, and shopping was a favorite pastime - especially when a good sale was involved. True to form, Donna never missed one. More than anything, she will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the joy she found in spending time with those she loved.
Survivors include her two daughters, Carla Bertram, Schofield and Candice (Todd) Wetzel, Schofield, four grandchildren, Jacklyn (Peter) VanNortwick, Vince (Amy) Bertram and Lucas and Olivia Koch, 2 great grandchildren, Jack and Benjamin Bertram, one sister, Cheryl (Jim) Buttke, Wausau and one brother, Loren Sickler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Merna (Dave) Kleman and Joan (Sid) Hunter and two sons-in-law, Roger Bertram and Todd Koch.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
Donna’s family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Primrose Memory Care for the loving and compassionate care they provided her during the past three years.
