Donna L. Gratton

Donna L. Gratton, 88, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Our House Senior Living under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born on April 6, 1937, to the late Ross and Alice (McNeil) Forrest in Rossland, British Columbia. Donna was united in marriage on May 17, 1958, to Richard Gratton at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Donna cared for her children and family as a loving wife, mother, and friend to many. She volunteered many hours at the Healthcare Center, Red Cross, and hospitals over the years. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking, often referred to as the “Cookie Lady.”

Survivors include her husband, Richard; children, Daniel (Darla) Gratton, Michelle Gratton (Jeff Peterson), and Colleen (Stefan) Hartung; grandchildren, Vanessa Gratton, Stephanie Gratton, Ben (Mariah) Lee, Hannah Hernandez, Haezel Hartung, and Greta Hartung; great-grandchildren, Easton, Rustin, and Maren Lee; and siblings, Jacqui Blanchard, Ross (Sharon) Forrest, and Bill (Maureen) Forrest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Alice Forrest.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 611 Stark Street, Wausau, with Rev. Tom Lindner presiding. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
