Donna M. Anderson, 75, Rib Mountain, died Tuesday February 2, 2016 at her home, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice and her family.
She was born August 21, 1940, in Washington County, daughter of the late Jacob and Rose (Welsch) Beck. On May 28, 1960, she married Robert Anderson in Campbellsport. He survives.
Donna and her husband owned and operated the Marlene Motel on Stewart Avenue in Wausau from 1974 until 1985. They worked together as administrators for the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona, Arizona from 1985 until 1998. After their time in Arizona, Donna assisted Deacon Bob during his appointment to the parishes in Jim Falls, Drywood and Cadott. 2003 brought the Anderson's back to Wausau where Donna remained active in church activities, became a member of the Secular Franciscans and volunteered at the Gift Shop at St. Clare's Hospital. Among her favorite things to do were scrapbooking, genealogy, participating in the mystery book club, traveling and camping.
Survivors include her husband, Deacon Bob Anderson, Rib Mountain, a daughter, Diana (Scott) Pagenkopf, Rib Mountain, a son, Dan (LuWon) Anderson, Madison, two grandchildren, Christopher and Courtney Pagenkopf, one sister, Dorothy (Manny) Batzler, Leroy.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by three brothers, Rollie, Leo and Alex Beck.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn and Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Deacon Bob Anderson will be the homilist. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Campbellsport. Friends may call on Friday February 12, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening to conclude the evening visitation at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Donna lived life with a positive, uplifting manner and it was her request that her friends not mourn her passing but join together in a celebration. To honor her request, we ask you to wear her favorite color purple (or any cheerful color) as we celebrate her life through music and prayer at her funeral mass.
