Dongene F. Graveen

DonGene Graveen 65, of Wausau passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the Marshfield Clinic. Don was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Wausau, son of the late Edwin and Isabella (Sicklinger) Graveen. On Sept. 3, 1960, he married Genevieve Chilla in Wausau. She survives. Don was employed at Wausau Mosinee Papers from 1964 until his retirement on April 7, 2005. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Genevieve, Wausau; his children, Sandra (Mike) O'Connor and Jill Graveen, all of Wausau; one brother, Earl (Arlene) Graveen Sr., Tomahawk; one sister, Evelyn Gassner, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Habeck; and five brothers, Harvey Sr., Ralph Sr., Gerald, LeRoy and Willard Graveen. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Wausau. The Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, and again at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
