Donald J. Witucki

Donald "Donnie" J. Witucki 53, R751 County Road M, Athens died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born November 12, 1955 in Wausau, son of Caroline (Gantner) Witucki, Athens and the late George Witucki. Donnie was a dairy farmer in the Athens area all his life and was proud to attend pilot school in Mosinee. He had a true passion for photography, gardening and flying but Donnie was a man dedicated to nature and the environment, most of all he cherished the time he had to spend with his family especially his nieces and nephews. Survivors include his mother, Caroline Witucki, Athens, his siblings, Annette (Mark) Stremer, Mosinee, Alan (Nancy) Witucki and Terry Witucki, both of Athens, Ronald (Brenda) Witucki, Milwaukee and Robert (Wanda) Witucki, Mosinee along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Athens funeral home. Family, Friends, his Faith and the Farm were a big part of Donnie's life. Much of his life, however, revolved around his dedicated and beloved caregivers at the Marshfield Clinic, the Northridge Dialysis Center, and St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care. This truly amazing team of knowledgeable doctors, sensitive and skilled nurses, technicians, pharmacy personnel, receptionists, dietary staff, aids and the Ministry went above and beyond to help Donnie have the best life possible. The entire family is forever grateful to all of them and will never forget them. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Donnie's name.
