Donald J. Weiler

Donald J. Weiler 73, Athens, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born July 20, 1933 in the town of Bern son of the late Sebastian and Anna (Post) Weiler. On December 5, 1951 he married Alice Kremsreiter at St. John Catholic Church, Wuertzburg. She survives. For several years, Don worked construction and later was self-employed as a logger. Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Alice, 10 children: Linda (Dennis) Kloth, Wausau, Bonnie (Terry) Leffel, Stratford, Richard (Jamie) Weiler, Fenwood, Donna Jean Weiler, Medford, Pamela Ann Weiler, Athens, Rita (David) Stevens, Athens, Calvin (Delene) Weiler, Medford, Gail M. Weiler, Wausau, Tammy Kay Weiler, Rib Lake, Julie (Scott) Jensen, Athens; one daughter-in-law, Donalyn Weiler, Athens, 36 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Elroy (Mary)Weiler, Abbottsford, Delores (Harold) Westfall, Athens, Shirley (Ron) Zenner, Athens, Patsy Poinowi, Athens, Anita (Leonard) Becker, Athens, Brenda (Dale) Dassow, Colorado, Diane Grosskreutz, Colorado, and Virgil (Judy) Weiler, Athens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Allen Lee and Loralyn Weiler, and a son-in-law, John Cullens. The funeral mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterson/Kramer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
