Donald A. Wagner

Donald A. Wagner 83, Wausau, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his cottage in Tomahawk. He was born May 22, 1928 in Wausau, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Schotz) Wagner. On June 4, 1955, he married Helen Zillman in Wausau. She preceded him in death on June 11, 1996. Donald was employed at Wausau Tile for 47 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cottage and hunting cabin. Survivors include, two daughters, Jane (Dennis) Weinke, Wausau and Jill (Jim) Haase, Tomahawk; one son, Jim (Jennifer) Wagner, East Bethel, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Delores (Don) Storm, South Bend, Ind. and Pat (Raymond) Kuehlman, Wausau; three brothers, Walter (Irene) Wagner, Rothschild, Clarence (Alice) Wagner, Wausau and George (Betty) Wagner, Ringle; two sisters-in-law, Carol Wagner, Weston and Ruth Ann (Arnold) Hafeman, Wausau, one brother-in-law, Edward Zillman, Boulder Junction; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kate Marie Wagner; and one brother, Melvin. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Alphonse will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
