Donald Raymond Turowski

Donald Raymond Turowski of Athens, Wisconsin, died Friday, June 26, 2026 at age 79 years.

He was born January 19, 1947 in Bremerton, Washington to Ervin R. and Marie E. (Striebel) Turowski. He was united in marriage to Marilyn A. Haynes on June 13, 1970 in Suquamish, Washington. They were blessed by the Lord with 56 years of marriage.

Don enjoyed working in the woods as a forester for many uears. In 1996, he and his family moved to Wisconsin where he spent the next 30 years hand-crafting furniture.

In his youth, Don received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. He was a member of the Athens Mennonite Church, where he was ordained a deacon in 1998. He also served as deacon at Lena, Wisconsin for five years, returning to Athens in 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and three daughters, Anna (Noah) Amstutz of Athens, Sarah (Sidney) Halligan of Athens and Grace Turowski of the family home. He is survived by 12 grandchildren and is also survived by his brother T. James (Michele) Turowski of Seabeck, Washington and sister Catherine Lucas of Poulsbo, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He lived for the good of others and will be greatly missed.
