Donald J. Seymour

Donald J. Seymour, 95, Wausau passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 under the care of Aspirus Home Hospice Care at Lakeview Heights, Wausau. He was born April 15, 1923 in Wausau, son of the late Herb and Elsie (Beck) Seymour. On September 21, 1946 he married Ruth Lodholz at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2013. Don worked for the Marathon County Highway Department for 42 years and six months. Some of his favorite pastimes included watching the Brewers and the Green Bay Packers, deer hunting, dancing and traveling and spending winters in Florida with his late wife Ruth. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play various sports as well. Don was a very humble man and had great respect for his many friends and family members. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Survivors include his children, Dale (Ginny) Seymour, Rothschild, Allen (Carol) Seymour, Wausau, Chuck (Leona) Seymour, Eagle River, Suzanne (Alan) Beck, Aniwa, Ron (Laura) Seymour, Wausau, Patty (Charlie) Leitermann, Mukwonago, Jeff (Stacey) Seymour, Harpswell, Maine and Terry (Connie) Seymour, Wausau; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Lucille (Maynard) Bedish, Eagle River, Joanne (DuWayne) Schulz, Wausau, Shirley Madden, Shawano and Darlene Fust, Wausau, one sister-in-law, Rita Seymour, Wausau and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Harold and Herb Jr., and one grandson, James Beck. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Jen Dahle will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
