Donald Pollard

Donald Pollard 56, 626 Bertha St., Wausau, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born November 15, 1946 in Syracuse, New York, son of Harold and Genevieve (Dopp) Pollard. On June 19, 1971, he married Carol Oberg at the Wayside Chapel, Edgewater. She survives. Donald was a Veteran of US Army serving during Vietnam and was the current Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388, Wausau. He was a maintenance man for Nanik Company, Wausau until the time of his retirement. Donald was a member of the Wausau Skeet & Trap Club and past Scout Master for the Boy Scouts Troop #465. Besides his love for traveling, Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors includes his wife, Carol Pollard, Wausau; one son, Stephen Pollard, Fountain, Colorado; parents, Harold and Genevieve Pollard, Fayetteville, New York; one sister, Charlotte (David) Smith, Marshfield; four brothers, his twin, Ronald (Maxine) Pollard, Minoa, New York, Gary (Cindy) Pollard, Wiggins, Colorado, Ken (Megan Sherwood) Pollard, Lenox, Iowa and Dr. Norman (Regina) Pollard, Alfred, New York. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and again from 9:30 a.m. Sunday until the time of services all at the Sixth St. funeral home. There will be a VFW memorial service at 6:30p.m. Saturday followed by a prayer service. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
