Donald J. Huey

Donald J. Huey, 89, Wausau, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at North Central Health Care, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born May 8, 1927 in Wausau, son of the late Eugene and Emma (Fitch) Huey. On November 14, 1959, he married Beulah Collins in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1998. Don was a veteran of the United States Navy. For many years, he worked for the former Connors Forest Industries in Wausau. He loved to go fishing and was very proud of becoming a vegetarian which he faithfully adhered to for over 40 years. Survivors include, four children, Joe (Heather) Huey, Montgomery, Ill., David (Fran Volhard) Huey, Mosinee, Mary (David Waite) Huey, Rothschild and Paul (Katrina) Huey, Wausau; four grandchildren, Tony Seehafer and Taurus, Benjamin and Noah Huey; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Beulah, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Huey, Catherine Mohr-Yessa, Marshall Huey and Betty Landreville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
