Donald D. Genrich
75, 1763 E. Crawling Stone Lane, Lac du Flambeau died Saturday, August 31, 2002 at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff.
He was born March 27, 1929 in Rib Mountain, son of the late William and Mary (Maas) Genrich. On September 27, 1959, he married Agnes Jahnes in Chippewa Falls. She survives.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army.
Donald was a machinist for the former Muskegon Piston Company, Schofield until retiring in 1989. He enjoyed going up north fishing and was well known as a handyman. Donald loved to visit with his family and enjoyed taking care of his dogs.
Besides his wife, Agnes, he is survived by three stepsons, Dr. Terry (Judy) Hickman, Presque Isle, Tim Hickman, Schofield and Larry (Frosty) Hickman, Elk River, MN; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; three sisters, Joan (Don) Utecht, Brokaw, Pat Krueger, Wausau and Evelyn Fischer, Appleton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one stepson, Gene Hickman; one daughter-in-law, Mildred Hickman; two brothers, Webby and Myron Genrich; three sisters, Norma Teuke, Marian Hoff and Dorothy D'Amore.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Rev. Donald Baumann will officiate. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where full military honors will be conducted. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the 6th St. funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Donald's name.
