Donald J. Falkowski

Donald J. Falkowski 77, Ringle died Saturday May 12, 2012 at Cedar Creek Manor, Kronenwetter. He was born March 19, 1935 in Hatley, son of the late Alex and Harriet (Obremski) Falkowski. On May 31, 1958 he married Carol Handrick in Stratford. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1998. For more than 48 years Don worked at Marathon Electric in Wausau. He also was a dairy farmer in the town of Easton and when he found the time he helped his brother Paul build homes. Don loved listening to the Sunday morning Polka Show, hunting, fishing and playing tricks on the whole family. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his children, Pam (Scott) Brendemuehl, Wausau, Debra Falkowski, Ringle, Mary (Robert) Schweigel, Rothschild, Timothy Falkowski, Aniwa and Jessica Falkowski, Weston, five grandchildren, Shari (Travis) Meverden, Brandy Brendemuehl, Brian (Krystal) Brendemuehl, Eric (April) Opper and Shane Schweigel and five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bass, Kelsey and Mara Meverden, Alana Brendemuehl and Bailey Opper. Don is further survived by his siblings, Roseann Mijal, Paul (Loretta) Falkowski and Roger (Pat) Falkowski, all of Wausau, Carol (Pete) Thout, Ringle, Frannie (Ronald) Check, Custer and David Falkowski, Ringle and one brother-in-law, Andy Check, Ringle. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Check. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday May 15, 2012 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. The Rev. Allan Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church.
