Donald R. Brummond

Donald R. Brummond, age 81, Wausau, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born March 9, 1932 in Wausau, son of the late Rudolph and Laura (Crochiere) Brummond. In 1967 he married Mary Urbanski in Wausau. She survives. Donald owned Brummond Heating and Sheet Metal for many years. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald was active at his church playing dart ball and volunteering. Some of his hobbies included bowling, going up north to the cabin, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and especially spending time with his family. He was eagerly looking forward to his trip on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight which he was scheduled to attend on April 22. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two children, Tracey (Mike) Allen and their children, Madelyn and Rachel, and Steve (Jean) Brummond and their children, Jake, Evan and Lauren; siblings, Rudy (Ruth) Brummond, Aaron (Joan) Brummond, and Gerald (Bette) Brummond; sister-in-law, Janet Urbanski; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Brummond. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. Pastor Nancy Russell will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Full military honors will be performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the compassionate care given to Donald.
