Donald "Donny" Bretl

Donald "Donny" "Gandy" Bretl, Wausau, 80, died Friday, December 13, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born September 28, 1933 in Wausau, son of the late John and Frances (Kumbera) Bretl. Donny enjoyed relaxing and spending time on his patio and going on gambling trips with his 53 year companion, Ellen. He also enjoyed cooking and was always sharing his meals with family. Survivors include his lifelong friend, Ellen Fuenger, Schofield; step children, Jane (Ron) Uekert, Wausau and John Fuenger, Wausau; step grandchildren, Ron (Lisa) Uekert, Wausau and Brenda (Kevin) Fable, Schofield; brother, Bill (JoAnne) Bretl, Wausau; sisters, Eleanor Bretl, Milwaukee and Marie Bretl, Wausau; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral service will be Noon on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
