Donald N. Adamski

Donald N. Adamski 59, town of Cassel, died Monday February 4, 2008 at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born January 10, 1949, in Wausau, son of Mary (Skrzypchak)Adamski, Marathon and the late Edwin Adamski. On August 11, 1978, he married Debra Mueller at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. She survives. From April 9, 1968 until February 5, 1970, Donald served his country in the US Army in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Army commendation Medal for Heroism connected with military operations while serving as a machine gunner with Co. C, First Battalion, on March 13, 1969. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Edgar Memorial Post No. 10187 and the American Legion Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon. For 15 years, Don was involved in Road Maintenance for the town of Cassel. He was a ginseng and buffalo farmer and also drove semi for Midwhey Powder. Among his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, going up north and building on the hunting shack. Being with family and friends was special to Don as well as watching his sons at Tractor Pulls. Survivors include his wife, Debra Adamski, Marathon, two sons, Jason (Jamie) Adamski, Edgar, Tony Adamski, Marathon, two grandchildren, Jenna and Nicholas, his mother and step-father, Mary and Clarence Adamski, Marathon, two brothers, Dean (Mary Kay) Adamski and Delos (Laura) Adamski, all of Marathon, four nieces and three nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday February 7, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a VFW and American Legion Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. Weds. evening at the Marathon funeral home. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com
