Dominic A. Marzynski

Dominic A. Marzynski, 90, the town of Cassel, died Monday May 13, 2013, at his home, under the care of his children. He was born November 28, 1922, in the town of Cassel, son of the late John Sr. and Sophie (Joswiak) Marzynski. On August 30, 1947, he married Dolores Wadinski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. She preceded him in death February 16, 1991. Dominic was a 1942 graduate of Marathon High School and was the first president of their FFA Chapter. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a millwright with the former James River Corporation, Wausau for over 37 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers Local Union No. 224 and served as union steward. The Marzynski's were dairy and ginseng farmers in the town of Cassel. Dominic and Dolores also enjoyed polka dancing and traveled extensively. He was a 4-H Leader, NFO member and was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish, serving as lector, usher and fund raiser. Survivors include three children, Dale (Kathy) Marzynski, Mosinee, Diane (Michael) Egner, Grayslake, Ill., Debra Marzynski, Marathon, three grandchildren, Melissa (Noah) Meade, Brian Egner, Ashleigh Marzynski; two great grandchildren, Caroline & Owen Meade; three siblings, Florence Jeziorski, Milwaukee, Dave (Anita) Marzynski and Joe (Sharon) Marzynski, all of Wausau. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, Clara Ruplinger, Anna Muschinski, John Jr., Stanley, Raymond, Leo and Valentine Marzynski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday May 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. Rev. Barnabas Kyeah and Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
